Tremron Construction in Alum Rock, CA | Timberline Contractors

Tremron hardscape construction in Alum Rock, CA means pavers, retaining walls, and patios built to handle steep East San Jose lots, winter rain runoff, and the legacy of older hillside parcels. We’re an independent Tremron installer serving the 95127 corridor, not a factory-authorized dealer, and the distinction matters: we source genuine Tremron block and pavers directly and build to manufacturer spec, while bringing the slope and drainage knowledge these foothill properties demand. We also handle Tremron service in East Foothills for similar hillside conditions. When an Alum Rock driveway or hillside terrace fails, it usually fails at the base and drainage, not at the paver itself, and that’s where our crew starts. Why Alum Rock Residents Choose Us for Tremron Service

Tremron pavers show up on driveways, patios, and hillside terraces all along the Alum Rock corridor, and we’ve seen how the same product performs differently here than it does on a flat Santa Clara Valley lot. Nelson Fung, our owner and general contractor, learned materials the hard way before he ever ran a company: he grew up around Chinatown hardware stalls and later trained at LA Trade-Tech, then spent years on Eastside bungalow remodels and mid-size commercial builds. That experience taught him to read a substrate before touching the finish. In Alum Rock, we don’t just drop pavers on sand and walk away. We check what’s underneath, because on these slopes what’s underneath is usually the whole story.

Our clients get genuine Tremron Olde Towne and Plaza Series units for visible field and wall work, plus quality aftermarket base aggregate, geogrid, and polymeric joint sand where spec allows. We’re clear about the difference: we’re not authorized by Tremron, and we don’t pretend to be. What we offer is deeper: installers who know which Tremron lines hold up on rain-soaked hillsides and which ones fail when the base is compacted thin. For broader coverage across the corridor, see our Tremron sales & service page and the Alum Rock service area page.

Common Tremron Construction Problems We Solve in Alum Rock

  • Paver settlement and edge drop on driveways and patios. Alum Rock’s sloped lots send winter rain under the field when the original base was compacted too thin. The pavers look fine for a season or two, then edges begin to sink and trip hazards appear. We lift the field, rebuild the base with proper aggregate and compaction, and relay the original Tremron units when they’re still sound.
  • Retaining-wall block failure on hillside terraces. Georgetown-style block without geogrid and with blocked weep drainage bulges and leans within a few wet seasons. We see this all over the Diablo foothills. Our fix is re-set and re-drain, not tear-out: we excavate behind the wall, install or repair the drainage plane, add geogrid where the height demands it, and reset the original block.
  • Efflorescence and salt bloom on gray Olde Towne pavers. Hot dry summers pull moisture to the surface, and the first wet-season soak leaves white mineral deposits across the field, made worse by irrigation overspray. We clean and address the moisture path so the bloom doesn’t return every winter.
  • Joint sand washout and weed intrusion on steep patio edges. Water sheets off the Diablo foothills instead of draining to a swale, and it takes the joint sand with it. We replace with polymeric sand and regrade the edge so runoff has somewhere to go that isn’t through your patio.
  • Driveway base failure on converted garages and old parcel grades. Many Alum Rock homes have additions or garage conversions that changed the original drainage plane. A paver driveway poured over that altered grade will heave and crack. We re-engineer the base against the actual slope, not the one that existed in 1950.

Tremron Service in Alum Rock: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s the part most out-of-town crews miss: hillside lots off Alum Rock Avenue often carry original retaining walls and decades of unpermitted ad-hoc terraces, so when we pull a San Jose permit for a Tremron paver patio or driveway we routinely uncover undocumented wall and drainage work that has to be engineered before any paver goes down. This is not a generic paver pitch. A flatlands crew in Cupertino or even a crew offering Tremron repair in San Jose flatlands doesn’t inherit a 1962 retaining wall with no footing and no drainage and then have to tell the homeowner the wall has to be addressed before the patio can go in. In Alum Rock, that’s a standard Tuesday. On a steep lot near Alum Rock Avenue our crew tore out a heaved Georgetown retaining-wall terrace that had no geogrid and drained straight into the hillside, rebuilt the base with proper aggregate and geogrid, added a weep-and-swale system, and reset the Tremron block before laying a new Olde Towne paver patio above it. The homeowner hadn’t known the old wall was unpermitted until we pulled the permit, and the rebuilt terrace now sheds winter runoff instead of soaking the slope. That sequence matters. The paver is the last thing we set, not the first.

Tremron Models & Products We Service in Alum Rock

Our crews install and repair Tremron Olde Towne pavers, the Georgetown retaining-wall block line, Plaza Series pavers, and Ledgestone wall block across the 95127 corridor. We keep common Olde Towne and Georgetown units staged locally for faster Alum Rock turnaround on repairs and small projects, and we use genuine Tremron block and pavers for visible field and wall work so color, thickness, and interlock match the existing hardscape. For base work, joint stabilization, and drainage, we use quality aftermarket aggregate, geogrid, and polymeric sand where spec allows. The difference between a wall we re-set and a wall someone replaces outright is the difference between a $4,000 repair and a $18,000 tear-out, and we’d rather re-set good Tremron block than send it to landfill.

Tremron Service Pricing in Alum Rock

Paver patio and paver driveway work in Alum Rock lands inside predictable ranges, and we quote from those ranges, not from a vague “call for pricing” number. A Tremron paver patio typically runs $3,500 to $11,000 depending on site access, slope, and base condition. A paver driveway starts around $7,000 and can reach $18,000 on problem hillside grades or long runs. Full driveway replacement, including demolition and base rebuild, lands between $5,000 and $14,000.

Service Typical Range in Alum Rock
Paver Patio Installation (Tremron) $3,500 – $11,000
Paver Driveway Installation (Tremron) $7,000 – $18,000
Driveway Replacement $5,000 – $14,000

What drives the number is base condition and slope, not the paver itself. A flat 300-square-foot patio on good ground is a different job than a 700-square-foot terrace on a hillside with a compromised retaining wall below it. Our free estimate in Alum Rock includes a site walk, base assessment, drainage check, and a written line-item quote. Call (866) 253-5808 to schedule one.
