PGT Construction in Ontario, CA | Timberline Contractors
PGT window and door service in Ontario usually means one of three things: a slider that won’t seal against the Santa Ana wind, impact glass that’s hazed over from inland sun, or an older frame that’s pitted where stucco holds moisture against the track. We’re Timberline Contractors, and we handle all three weekly across Ontario’s 91758, 91761, 91762, and 91764 ZIP codes. What sets our PGT work apart here is that we knuckle-test every exterior wall before we cut, because Ontario’s 1950s through 1970s housing stock hides surprises behind the plaster that newer cities simply don’t have. Call (866) 253-5808 for a free estimate on PGT repair or replacement.
Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for PGT Service
We’ve ordered, glazed, and re-glazed more PGT WinGuard and Architectural Series units through Ontario remodels and PGT service in Chino than any other impact-rated brand. That’s not bragging. It’s just what happens when you work a market where PGT dominates the production-window category and the housing stock is hitting its second remodeling cycle all at once. Nelson Fung, our owner and general contractor, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and spent years on Eastside bungalow remodels before running Timberline. His rule applies to PGT work the same as any other: do it right the first time or explain yourself twice.
We’re an independent PGT service provider. We work on their windows and doors every week, but we are not authorized, sponsored, or warranty-backed by PGT. What that means for you is straightforward advice about repair versus replacement, OEM parts where they make sense, and aftermarket glazing matched to the original profile where they don’t. No dealer quotas pushing a full replacement when a roller and weatherstripping kit would fix the problem. See our full PGT sales & service scope for details on everything we cover.

Common PGT Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario
- WinGuard laminate hazing and delamination. The interlayer in impact-rated glass yellows under persistent inland UV, and Ontario gets more than its share. Homeowners describe it as windows that look permanently dirty from inside, no matter how often they clean them. Once the laminate delaminates, glass replacement is the only real fix.
- Slider weatherstripping that’s worn flat. Santa Ana wind cycles push and pull on sliding-door interlocks season after season. The polyurethane foam weatherstripping compresses, then fails. You’ll feel dust on the interior track and a draft at the meeting stile. OEM PGT weatherstripping restores the seal.
- Aluminum frame pitting and oxidation. On 1950s through 1970s Ontario homes, stucco wicks moisture against aluminum slider frames where original sheathing is thin or missing entirely. The result is pitting at the base of the frame, corroded rollers, and eventually a door that drags or binds.
- Screen-track and roller failure on Architectural Series sliders. Dry inland summers fill track channels with windblown dust and fine grit. Rollers grind through it, flat-spot, and the door starts jumping the track. Screen tracks packed with debris tear screen frames when forced.
- Older PGT aluminum sliding glass doors in original additions. Ontario has plenty of homes where a 1970s or 1980s addition included a PGT aluminum slider. Those frames are often still sound, but the hardware and glazing are past their service life. We replace rollers, interlock weatherstripping, and glass where the frame justifies it.
PGT Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Ontario’s older core is stucco over plaster, and in a lot of cases there’s no sheathing at all behind that stucco. When we cut into an exterior wall to replace a PGT slider or window, we knuckle-test and probe before the saw comes out. Original aluminum conduit and plumbing were often run through that mid-century plaster layer, and hitting either means a repair that has nothing to do with windows. That step is routine for us in Ontario, and it’s almost never needed in the newer infill builds on the other side of the same ZIP code. It’s one of those local details you learn by working a city long enough to know what’s behind the wall before you open it. Our full Ontario service area page covers the neighborhoods we work in most.
A 1960s stucco home near the older single-family core off Euclid Avenue comes to mind. Our crew replaced a pair of hazed PGT WinGuard sliders whose laminate had yellowed from years of inland sun. We knuckle-tested the wall before cutting, found no sheathing behind the plaster, and reframed the opening before setting new impact-rated sliders. The homeowner ended up with clear glass and doors that actually sealed against the Santa Ana wind for the first time in years.
PGT Models & Products We Service in Ontario
We cover the PGT lines most common in Ontario homes. That includes PGT WinGuard Aluminum impact-rated sliders and windows, the PGT Architectural Series vinyl single-hung, casement, and picture windows, PremierVue and Premium Vinyl single-hung lines, and the older PGT aluminum sliding glass doors we see in original additions throughout the city. Where the frame is sound and the model is still supported, we source OEM PGT replacement glass, hardware, rollers, and weatherstripping. When a slider’s frame is pitted beyond saving or the laminate is fully delaminated, we tell owners honestly that a full unit replacement beats chasing parts. For discontinued PGT lines, we use quality aftermarket glazing and hardware matched to the original profile rather than leaving you stuck with a window nobody will touch.

AfterPGT Service Pricing in Ontario
Most PGT repair in Montclair and Ontario lands between a simple hardware fix and a full window or door replacement. Here’s what you can expect, using the ranges we share across every estimate:
| Service | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| Window Replacement | $4,500 – $15,000 |
| Impact Window Installation | $8,000 – $25,000 |
| Home Addition (with PGT glazing) | $45,000 – $130,000 |
A simple roller and weatherstripping replacement on a PGT slider runs far below any of these, typically in the low hundreds. Glass replacement for hazed WinGuard units depends on panel size and whether the frame is reusable. Every estimate is line-item, written, and free. Call (866) 253-5808 and we’ll walk the job with you before quoting a number.

FAQs – PGT Construction in Ontario
If the frame is sound, glass-only replacement is often the right call, and we do it regularly in Ontario. Hazed WinGuard laminate gets replaced with new impact-rated glass matched to the original profile, saving you thousands versus full unit replacement. If the frame shows pitting or the laminate has fully delaminated, we’ll recommend full units. Call (866) 253-5808 for an exact quote after we inspect the units.
Ontario’s inland sun is harder on impact-glazed laminate than coastal climates, and older PGT units with years of UV exposure eventually yellow and haze from inside. It’s not a cleaning problem. The interlayer breaks down under sustained UV and heat, and Ontario gets both in spades. Glass replacement resolves it when the frame is still serviceable.
It can, if the contractor doesn’t know what they’re doing. Ontario’s mid-century homes often have no sheathing behind the stucco, and original conduit and plumbing run through the plaster. We probe and knuckle-test before cutting, and we reframe openings when needed. That’s the difference between a clean PGT install and a surprise electrical repair. Call (866) 253-5808 for a free estimate, and we’ll tell you what’s behind the wall before the saw comes out.
No. Timberline Contractors is an independent PGT service provider. We work on PGT products weekly, source OEM parts where supported, and use quality aftermarket glazing for discontinued lines. That independence means we recommend the repair that makes sense for your Ontario home, not the one that satisfies a dealer agreement.
They make excellent sense, especially when you’re converting or adding onto Ontario’s older industrial and warehouse stock. PGT WinGuard sliders give you impact-rated glazing that handles inland sun and wind, plus wide sightlines that work well with the larger openings common in converted commercial spaces. We’ve installed them on several Ontario conversions. Call (866) 253-5808 to talk through your plans.
