Unilock Construction in Riverside, CA | Timberline Contractors

We install, repair, and replace Unilock paver systems across Riverside, from Wood Streets bungalows to La Sierra subdivisions, and we also provide Unilock repair in Rubidoux. Timberline Contractors is an independent contractor, not a Unilock dealer or manufacturer affiliate. What sets our Unilock work apart here is knowing how Riverside’s mature citrus trees, seismic activity, and 100°F+ summers actually affect base prep, joint stability, and long-term paver performance. Call (866) 253-5808 for a free estimate on your Unilock project.

Why Riverside Residents Choose Us for Unilock Service

Nelson Fung, our owner and general contractor, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending years on remodels and commercial builds across the LA basin. He’s the kind of contractor who will tell you exactly where a cheaper base material makes sense and exactly where it will cost you twice as much in three years. That’s the lens we bring to every Unilock installation and repair, including Glen Avon Unilock service.

We’ve worked with Unilock systems long enough to know their products line by line. Brussels Block, Beacon Hill, Copthorne, Pisa2. We know how they lay, how they weather, and how they fail when shortcuts get taken. Our team handles everything from full paver driveway installations to patio repairs and driveway replacements, and we keep a local inventory of OEM Unilock pavers and compatible base materials so we’re not waiting on a freight truck when your project needs to move.

Riverside homeowners call us because we give straight answers about repair versus replacement, we show up when we say we will, and we don’t hand the job to a rotating cast of subs. One contractor, every phase. Unilock sales & service is a core part of what we do, and we treat every paver job like it’s going in front of our own house.

Common Unilock Construction Problems We Solve in Riverside

  • Efflorescence and color fading. Riverside’s UV exposure is relentless, and older Unilock pavers with less stable pigments show it. That chalky white residue and washed-out color you’re seeing is common on installations from the early 2000s. We assess whether cleaning, sealing, or selective paver replacement is the right fix.
  • Joint sand erosion and paver shifting. Santa Ana winds strip joint sand out of pavers faster than people expect, and the occasional heavy winter rain finishes the job. Without adequate edge restraint, pavers drift, gaps open, and the whole surface starts moving. We repair edges, re-sand with polymeric stabilizer, and correct the restraint system so it doesn’t happen again next season.
  • Subsidence near mature citrus trees. Riverside’s historic neighborhoods like Wood Streets and Arlington Heights are full of mature orange and lemon trees. Their roots extend well past the drip line and undermine base compaction, which means pavers settle, dip, and create trip hazards. This is the single most common Unilock problem we see in older Riverside neighborhoods.
  • Seismic-induced cracking and joint separation. Sitting near the San Jacinto and Elsinore faults, Riverside sees enough ground movement to stress rigid paver systems. Older installations without flexible edge restraints, or those built over poorly compacted base, crack and separate at the joints. We fix these by correcting the underlying base and adding proper restraints.
  • Base washout from poor drainage. Riverside’s dry, dust-laden air accelerates surface wear, but the bigger issue is what happens when rain does come. If your paver base wasn’t graded to drain properly, water washes out the bedding layer, leaving hollow spots under the surface. We’ve pulled up pavers in Riverside more times than we can count and found base material that simply isn’t there anymore.

Unilock Service in Riverside: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Riverside sits on ground that moves, and it was built on trees that refuse to die. Those two facts shape almost every Unilock job we take. The city’s historic citrus-grove neighborhoods were planted decades before anyone poured a driveway or laid a patio, and those root systems are still there, spreading under the concrete and pavers. In Wood Streets, where 1920s Craftsman bungalows crowd narrow lots, we regularly encounter orange tree roots that have lifted sidewalks, cracked driveways, and pushed through paver bases. Standard practice elsewhere means digging down six to eight inches and compacting. Standard practice in Riverside means hand-excavating around roots, sometimes installing a root barrier, and accepting that the base will never be perfectly uniform under a century-old tree. We account for that. We compact around the roots, use geotextile fabric where it protects the system, and adjust the bedding depth so the finished surface drains properly and stays level. Do it right the first time or explain yourself twice.

And then there’s the seismic side. Riverside’s proximity to the San Jacinto and Elsinore faults means our paver installations include flexible edge restraints and properly compacted base as standard. Not optional. If you’re near the fault lines on the east side or in older neighborhoods with unpermitted additions bolted to nothing, your hardscape should be built to move without cracking. That’s the local standard we work to.

Unilock Models & Products We Service in Riverside

We install and service the Unilock product lines most commonly used in Riverside residential projects: Brussels Block for driveways and front walks, Beacon Hill for traditional patios with that tumbled, older look, Copthorne for modern clean lines, and Pisa2 for a Mediterranean feel that works well with Riverside’s mix of Spanish Revival and Craftsman architecture. We use OEM Unilock pavers whenever they’re available because color match and dimensional consistency matter. For older installations where a specific color or line has been discontinued, we source aftermarket pavers that match as closely as possible and recommend selective replacement only when the overall system is still sound. If the base is compromised or the pavers have moved significantly, full replacement is often the smarter financial decision. We’ll tell you which way to go without pushing you toward the bigger invoice.
